With shockingly only ONE food item on their menu, PappaRoti Cafe has stirred up quite some traffic in Dubai Mall!
While I was shopping around the mall this weekend I passed by this small cafe and couldn’t resist the smell of freshly baked bread. The irresistible aroma, wheels you in from meters away!…..& Of course I wasn’t the only victim.
The cafe was fully packed to the extent that all the tables and chairs were taken; there were 2 queues of people placing orders; and even a group of ~10-15 people (who have already ordered and paid) lingering around, anxiously waiting for the next batch of buns to come out of the oven!
I had to wait in queue for around 5-7 minutes to place my order. Once I placed my order, I was told that I would have to come back in half an hour to pick it up (which was fine because I wasn’t done shopping yet). Half an hour later, I came back to find a new set of fresh out-the-oven buns being packed into brown bags and distributed to all the awaiting customers. It’s a bit silly when you think “all this for a bun” but it really was worth the wait!
The bun is dome-shaped, crunchy on the outside due to a light coffee + caramel topping, & soft and fluffy in the inside….simply built to perfection! There’s also a little heavenly surprise in the middle….that I will not ruin 🙂
Locations: Dubai Mall, & Sunset Mall on Jumeirah Beach Road.
Price: 11 AED/Bun
