The latest Lebanese restaurant to take Dubai by storm, and my current default breakfast/lunch/dinner spot, is Leila Restaurant. This Beirut-based restaurant just recently opened in Downtown Dubai on Emaar Boulevard and has added a touch of Lebanese culture to the mainly modern “Centre of Now”. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant has a cozy and homey atmosphere.
I always appreciate little added details and couldn’t resist taking a picture of the restaurant’s matching cutlery and place mats. They definitely exemplify attention to detail, and add a pretty touch to the table setting.
I was once told that the taste of one food item- Hummous – in Arabic Restaurants signifies whether the rest of your meal is going to be delicious or not. Now even though Leila’s Hummous was absolutely delicious, I’m going to have to say that the Zeytoun and Zaatar buns stole my heart from the get-go and were an early sign that I was up for a treat.
You can’t go wrong with ordering any of the mezze, main course, and dessert dishes as they are all simply delicious and full of flavor. You’ll find that some traditional dishes have an interesting twist to them, so be ready to discover new tasty combinations. (HINT: 1 creative dish is Leila’s Basterma Cheese Rolls 🙂 )
